Our client is a charitable organisation that provides clinical eye care, educates eye health care providers, conducts research and finds new ways to save sight and stimulates awareness of eye health in the community. This charity is Queensland's only academic eye institute and is the result of the efforts of many people and the generous support from the community. This foundation has a fantastic opportunity for a Communications Consultant to join their team reporting directly to the General Manager and access to Board of Directors. This role is developed to champion its brand, raise awareness in the community, promote campaigns and assist in the commercial success of the foundation. The role requires both strategic and operational "hands-on" capabilities in the areas of fundraising, sponsorships, individual giving and events management. Based in South Brisbane, the key focus of this role will be: - Securing fundraising income developing, implementing and managing fundraising and sponsorship strategies within the community
- Design and produce marketing materials (newsletters, annual reports and media releases)
- Raising the public profile of the foundation
- Develop relationships with media organisations Community fundraising and events management
- Donor management (plan campaigns to grow the existing donor base)
- Relationship building
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to raising the profile of the foundation and the mission and objectives of the foundation. To be successful and meet the challenges of this rewarding position you will need to have strong business acumen, personal drive, a high degree of professionalism and the ability to initiate and build strong networks within corporate environment and a track record of achievable financial targets. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to work autonomously are essential. Previous experience in website content management and Donor Management software is desirable. Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable but not essential.
